Looks kind of woke and garbagey...

Not sure how to judge garbagey from this trailer, but hope it's not too bad.

As far as woke... that doesn't bother me. I'm old, so ANY youth culture is going to seem weird to me. But not worth worrying about.

God knows my beloved counterculture of the 60's looks dated and profoundly obsolete now.

I watched it with the volume down - so maybe I missed the politics - but the fight scenes looked fun.

Maybe the weakness for her is if her mouth is shut the sprite can't jump in...

To be honest it's quite hard nowadays to find a series that would not qualify as woke in some way. It's just a question of how believable this inclusion is in the given setting and where it starts bothering you.

I can't see how it could bother anyone. It's just 21st century youth culture.

I grew up in the 'drugs, rock and roll, back to the land, equal rights for everyone, stay out of Vietnam' culture. In other words, the dominant mid-20th century youth culture. Then I started the 70's serving in the USAF along with a lot of other enlisted draft dodgers. Then went to live for a decade in SE Asia starting in the 90's. It was all good.

After all that, nothing can hurt my feelings. I've lived in all kinds of cultures. I'm just here for the superhuman female angle, which has been an obsession of mine since the early 60's. This movie looks like it may have some of that. Good. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

This seems fun, looks like it has some eastern over the top fight movie influences too.

I have 1 episode left to watch.
so far, it's enjoyable.  The super strength is fun and unique. Still leaving a lot of mystery into the "why".

I binged the entire series and for most part some good strength scenes. The ending is as expected so hopefully season 2 is on the horizon.

So, I saw the entire show.

While it is overall pretty bland and forgettable, it wasn't as bad as I had feared. Make no mistake, it is Woke as F..., but it was not as "man-hating" or preachy as some had feared (The lead actress has made a few speeches about how men have ruined everything).
There are a few scenes, mostly in the first episode (as usual), where she tosses the guys around. It is pretty well made, but it is in wide-shots where you can't really see her, so it might as well have been a man tossing them around. Apart from a single scene or two where she is in a dress, it is almost impossible to tell that it is a woman doing these things. Nell is so androgynous that it was kinda hard for me to appreciate, but some of you might get a kick out of it.
Anyways, she tosses some guys, fights them hand to hand, throws some objects, blocks bullets, catches bullets, jumps high, and in one scene she bends some steel bars.
No lifts, no carrying, no slow visible strength scenes. Overall, very "meh".
But still better than most of what else is out there, so there's that...
